Jon McDevitt’s Christmas song-along single ‘Father Christmas’

The Christmas sing-along ‘Father Christmas’, due to be released 25th November, blends influences from The Smiths and Dexys Midnight Runners, escaping the Christmas song cliche. The unique lyrics co-written by Dominic Hudson are based on elements of his own life exploring the idea of Christmas without always seeing your children. Although this was Hudson’s idea of the single, the theme of ‘Father Christmas missing from Christmas’ can be interpreted by anyone in anyway they wish, making the seasonal single accessible for all.

The range of musicians in McDevitt’s band has influenced the unique sound. The violinist Anna Jenkins has worked alongside major artists such as Emily Barker and Frank Turner.
